  5. INSTALLATION 
  6. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 
  7. To install, execute CDTRAY3.EXE from Windows.  The CD Tray setup program will 
  8. then install CD Tray onto your hard disk in the directory you specify.

  11. IF YOU HAVE A PREVIOUS VERSION OF CD TRAY ON YOUR SYSTEM 
  12. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 
  13. The version 3.03 Disc Library record format has changed.  You may safely 
  14. install CD Tray, version 3.03 into the same directory as your previous 
  15. version.  If your version of CD Tray is version 2.0 or lower you will need to 
  16. convert your library files to the new format using the supplied utility, 
  17. CONVCD.EXE.  You may run CONVCD prior to running CD Tray, version 3.03 if you 
  18. wish.  If not, CD Tray will detect that your files are from a previous version 
  19. when executed for the first time and will execute CONVCD for you, if 
  20. necessary.  For safety, your disc library files will be saved to different 
  21. files in the same directory by CONVCD prior to conversion.  Therefore, ensure 
  22. you have enough hard disk space available to accomodate the backups of your 
  23. database files as well as a new larger set of CD Tray database files, 
  24. CDTRAY.DAT and CDTRAY.IXC.

  26. If you decide to install CD Tray, version 3.03 into a different directory 
  27. initially from your previous version, keep in mind that you will have to 
  28. manually edit the CDTRAY.INI 'DbDirectory=' key entry to point the correct 
  29. version at the correct location of the proper version of the Disc Library 
  30. files.  It is highly recommended you do not keep two different versions of CD 
  31. Tray on your Windows system.

  35. NOTE ON USING WINZIP FOR EXTRACTING THIS FILE 
  36. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 
  37. You may have problems running CDTRAY3.EXE from WinZip.  Specifically, this 
  38. installation program may abort abnormally when double-clicking it from 
  39. WinZip.  This is a problem with the CD Tray installation program and not 
  40. WinZip.  To resolve the problem, first, extract the file CDTRAY3.EXE to a 
  41. directory on your system.  Next, run CDTRAY3.EXE by double-clicking the icon 
  42. from File Manager.
